Would you believe that Rachel’s Carson Silent Spring is 50 years old this year!
Many of us have read the book and studied it in school. Silent Spring had a huge impact and led to the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency, and many reforms for wildlife and biodiversity conservation. Unfortunately, some of the issues Miss Carson brought attention to are still very much with us today; just think of all the chemicals that are still being poured on the landscape.
